Summer? Now you've really got me. By all means if the apartment looks great and you have a good price take it. I'd certainly chose it over either of the other two locations (especially if the Marais apartment doesn't look so good). What's a 10 minute stroll to dinner on a summer evening? And I assure you there will be some choices much closer than that. Ironically, though the hotels and apartment I've stayed in are within a block of dozens of restaurants, we invariably walk to one blocks and blocks away. This is not an issue!!

The intersection of Rue de Bac/St-Germain/Raspail is less than a 10-minute walk.

And it's right around the corner from one of our favorite (romantic, moderately priced, wonderful service, fabulous food) restaurants in all of Paris - Ferme St-Simon.

One of my favorite paris restaurants is la Petite Chaise at 36-38 Rue de Grenelle. Good food at about 25E prix fixe, also ala carte.
Reservations reco'd but if you go at 7PM when they open, you probably won't have a problem.

As St. Cirq said the 7th is full of good restaurants and cafes. There is a Franprix on rue Cler as well as a supermarket right at the Ecole Militaire Metro. There are patisseries, chocolatiers, traiteurs, and everything else on every street. The Monoprix that was mentioned is one of the worst I have been in--and a long long way from the 7th (at least in my experience--I did have to go there one time and had BAD directions).

Someone mentioned a supermarket near the Ecole Militaire Metro Stop, but would this be the closet supermarket to my apartment?

Also, does anyone know where the closet Monoprix would be? I tried to log onto their website, but I couldn't figure it out

Anna, I'm always a bit anal about planning myself, but please don't get too carried away. There is nothing greater than moving into your apartment and exploring the neighborhood to find the things you need to find. I can't imagine the need to have such detailed directions to things you're going to have fun finding on your own. I understand a concern that you will have facilities near you, but there is no good reason to concern yourself with exact directions and locations for these things once you've already established where you're renting. Please relax so you can enjoy your stay!

Restaurants, cafes and boulangeries in Paris? Arguably the best selection in the world. The 7th can hold it's own, you have no worries.
