Nice town within an hr of Athens - with toddler!
 

Hi all,

Next Sept we have a family wedding in Skiathos, but have 5 nights to fill before. We fly into Athens are looking for a recommendation of where to stay near there (ideally within abut an hour's drive). Our son will be 2, so toddler friendly with a pool would be great. We're expecting to hire a car for exploring, but would just like a nice town as a base with good restaurants, and a toddler friendly villa.

I don't know the area at all, so any recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

Do you happen to know much about the ferry from Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos? How many run a day, and are the they reliable in terms of timings?

Also, is it possible to hire a car from Athens airport, but then drop it off at Agios Konstantinos port?

My first thought was for Vougliameni as well. A one-way drop-off might be possible but it usually comes with a heavy fee. The Skyscanner website has a rental car filter that allows for a search for dropping off cars at a different location. You may also fly from Athens to Skiathos, it takes about 40 min.
Or take a car and passenger ferry from Volos to Skiathos
