Nice town within an hr of Athens - with toddler!

Hi all,

Next Sept we have a family wedding in Skiathos, but have 5 nights to fill before. We fly into Athens are looking for a recommendation of where to stay near there (ideally within abut an hour's drive). Our son will be 2, so toddler friendly with a pool would be great. We're expecting to hire a car for exploring, but would just like a nice town as a base with good restaurants, and a toddler friendly villa.

I don't know the area at all, so any recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you!

I'd probably go to Vougliameni or to Sounio.

Thank you for the recommendations, they both look great.

Do you happen to know much about the ferry from Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos? How many run a day, and are the they reliable in terms of timings?

Also, is it possible to hire a car from Athens airport, but then drop it off at Agios Konstantinos port?

Thanks so much for your help

My first thought was for Vougliameni as well. A one-way drop-off might be possible but it usually comes with a heavy fee. The Skyscanner website has a rental car filter that allows for a search for dropping off cars at a different location. It's up to you to contact the rental agents to confirm what you may discover there. https://www.skyscanner.com/car-renta...l-airport.html

You may also fly from Athens to Skiathos, it takes about 40 min.
Or take a car and passenger ferry from Volos to Skiathos
