News from Maribel

Dear Friends of the Fodor's Forum,

Like many of you, I have been concerned about the absence of Maribel on the Forum since her trip to Extremadura in March. I wrote her last month (we hve been corresponding personally for the last few years) and recently heard from her. Sadly, her mother died suddenly and unexpectedly after she returned from Extremadura. Due to this sadness and loss in her life, she has been unable to participate in the Forum as she has done in the past. She says that she will return when she is able.

This is an especially painful coincidence for me as she did so much to help me plan my trip last November to Extremadura with my husband, my sister and my mother. Less than 3 months after we returned from our wonderful, beautiful trip together, my mother became gravely ill and died in March.

So, please keep Maribel and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. She hopes to be able to participate again in the Forum at some future date.

Sincerely,

Maria

How sad. Maribel has been an enormous source of help and inspiration to me over the years when planning trips to Spain. She is a wonderful gracious and generous person.

Maria: Thank you for letting us know; I too was becoming worried. Please pass on my deepest condolences at her sad loss.

Warmest regards Ger

Maribel's advice and guide to Barcelona were of great help to us on our recent trip. I'm very sorry to hear of her loss. Please tell her that we miss her.

Maria, thank you for passing on this sad news, and my deepest sympathies to you and your family as well as to Maribel. My own mother passed away over two years ago, and I still miss her every day, so I'm sure your grief is still very much a part of your day. Blessings to you.

Maria, I am so sad to hear this news, but thank you for letting us know about our Maribel. She's very much missed here, certainly, and we will all look forward to the day she's able to return.

Thanks for updating us, Maria. I'm sorry that you, too, are suffering from the loss of your mother. Please pass my condolences to Maribel who was kind enough to share her Madrid and Seville files for our upcoming trip to Andalusia with my mother-in-law.

I too have been worried about Maribel. Every few days I would search to see if she had posted to the mesageboard.

Maribel, we miss you!

And, Maria, thanks so much for letting us know why we haven't been seeing Maribel's most knowledgable posts on Fodor's.

Maria, Please send my condolences on to Maribel as well. And, Maria, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your mother as well. Moms are so very special! May you be comforted by a cushion of loving angels as you go through this difficult time.

Maria. Thank you so much for letting all of us know.
Maribel emailed me and was very helpful in finding a villa near Girona.
She is in our thoughts.

Maria,

Thank you for letting us know.

It's so strange, even though I've never met Maribel, she's given so much and been so helpful, I feel as if I know her. My condolenses to her, and you as well.

For those who need more information on planning upcoming trips to Spain, you might try checking out maribelsguides.com--there's a wealth of information there.

I too am looking forward to her return to this forum.
