hi, can you take the AVE from Seville and go to the airport by train. which station should you get off at in Madrid. Thanks. Trying to figure out how to get back from Seville to catch a plane out of Madrid.

Arrive at Atocha from Sevilla. Take C1 ( Look for "cercanías" area of train station) to Terminal 4.

My question is where exactly you buy the ticket for this C1 train? From a machine and also ticket window that says "Cercanías?".?

If leaving from another terminal you MAY want to take the airport bus from Atocha ( outisde on side street) to your exact terminal to avoid taking yet another shuttle between T4 and the other T's.

Well, I used it for the first time last Friday. I arrived a bit early to Chamartin because I couldn´t find any information saying if the train was going to stop always in the same platform or not.

The train is brand new, and it took a bit more than the announced 11 minutes to Barajas. Not a lot of people on board, and a problem I detected : most of the entrance doors have two steps to get into the train. There are some wheeling-chair doors, but as I said, most of them have those steps. OK if your luggage is small, but if it is big (there was one lady with two huge suitcases asking me if there were any porters ... no, sorry) or if you don´t manage quite well, it can be difficult.

I think it is a good option if you are staying near the different stations, and going to the T4, but not so good if you have to go and change lines. Although it could open your mind to get a hotel in a different area (Plaza de Castilla near Chamartin, well located and a few 4 star hotels with great offers on weekends when the business travellers are not around ... for example).

For me, it has been a much better option than my usual two metro lines, although I will probably use the metro to get to the T1 ...

Bye, Cova
