"How does one pare wine, pray?"
You missed another typo. You should spell check again; try something cleverer and less abrasive. Unfortunately for you, you have the time.. I have been reading this forum for quite some time with only this post. The personal digs seem to be a signature of conceit. It would be possible to admire those who share their knowledge and provide it willingly without limit. As an American, we all would do the same and think nothing of it. We don’t strike out for our own esteem. I truly hope this is not a symbol of British “integrity.” As for you who have been an asset, you deserve a pat. It would be great if someone could tell me if you can see professional basketball or football in England? I love to watch it here and would very much miss real sporting events while biding my time. Also, is it possible to watch professional US sporting events on TV in London? I really doubt I could stand month’s abroad watching nothing but Two Fat Ladies and championship sheep herding on BBC. |
Troll? Im a guy..That is if a troll is what my buddies and I call certain females...NC=No class.>>
Martin - i can't tell if you know what a troll is or not - which you would know if you've been here a lot - or even if you are one! <<It would be great if someone could tell me if you can see professional basketball or football in England? I love to watch it here and would very much miss real sporting events while biding my time.>> you might get some pro basketball in somewhere like Milton Keynes or Luton - but the down side course is that you'd have to go to Milton Keynes! anyway the sort of sporting events you're talking about don't count as real sport here - we're much keener on what you call soccer, cricket and rugby - and you can watch them to your heart's content on Sky. for food, if you're serious, get hold of a time out guide - plenty of ideas there. |

What would be the "major" league I could find more about? -or- what is the equivalent to, say, the NFL, the highest level of cricket in the UK? Lord knows, a soccer match is a good place to be killed. |
for cricket, i think that 20/20 would be the place to start. look out for it on Friday and Saturday nights after Easter, when the cricket season will start, at Lord's or the Oval.
otherwise, if you're still around then, England will be playing New Zealand at the Oval at the end of June: http://www.viagogo.co.uk/Sports-Tick...enty20-Tickets |

Is this a ticket broker? Or are they available at the venue or something like Ticketmaster? |
here we are - tickets for the Oval at £30 each:

am assuming there is a Starbucks in the area?>
duh yeh! and also huge red phone boxes; zebra stripes; fish, chippies and Chinese take-outs and pubs. Got it all London does! |
Are you a Joe Strummer fan? (I ask because of your profile pic)
Stummerville, the charity his wife founded about 10 years ago following his death, is hosting a benefit gig at Ace Cafe on 23 April. http://www.strummerville.com/ace-caf...n-benefit-gig/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strummerville |

My ex-wife had a contract with Hellcat. I got to meet him twice. Once in Los Angeles and once on the boardwalk in Atlantic City. In LA he signed the bottom of a room service tray and gave it to me after I gave him some stamps to mail a Mescaleros CD. I have a photo with him and the tray framed with the tray. |
That is, framed photo with Joe and the tray. Both were equally interesting. Not really, he just seemed confused by the whole situation.
