"the Rosetta Stone museum in Figeac" -- The Musée Champollion is a GREAT little museum, IMO! :-)

Thanks to everyone who replied since my last posting! All of your information is very helpful.
To StuDudley, I enjoyed your photos of Figeac, and I will email you to request a copy of your Dordogne itinerary. Maitaitom, thanks for your trip report. I have read part of it so far. Before I read your report, I reserved the Montesquieu at Villa des Consuls for 4 nights!! So glad to hear you were happy with your choice! Dugi_otok had recommended it in an earlier post. It must be very popular because there were only 3 apartments available for our dates, so now there are 2. |
Kwoo, I think you'll love it. Nice balcony to enjoy some afternoon vin, and the location is superb. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Have a blast!

Maitaitom,
What time of year did you go to the Dordogne? And what was the weather like? |
Not Tom, but we were in Sarlat end of May, beginning of June 2013. River activities , canoes and gabarre, were closed because of high water due to earlier rains. But we had pleasant spring weather with no rain.
You asked about reservations needed. No reservations needed for any activities except some caves. We walked up to Lascaux II ticket window and bought tickets to next English tour which happened to be in the next 15 min. I called Pech-Merle for a next day reservation. |
HI Kwoo,,
We were there in late September/early October. We had a little rain, but for the most part the autumn weather co-operated and it was beautiful. ((H)) |
Thank you maitaitom and dugi_otok!
