Susanna, not until the fall. I'll be sure to report back after, though.

Ok...

Now to just confuse things, I discovered Parisian Flats!

But a big question.

These 3 properties I like the best are simply stunning!!! Even more so than my favs of Paris Perect and Guest Apartment Services.

Yes, they are still pricey, but they are stunnng iwth EVERYTHING I love incl air conditioning; there isn't a quibble about any of these..... unless... I am missing something! I love all their locations.

Please fabulous Fodorites, tell me what I may be missing.

I sent an e mail just moments ago about pricing for 3 weeks and for a month in each for next June 2012.

Here are the 3. Really all of their apts appeal in their entire collection ( which is not large, kinda like that!)

I like all of the parisian flat apartments. We stayed in one that is no longer offered by the agency. All of our dealings with them went smoothly and they were there to meet us as arranged. The apartment was as represented on the website. I don't think they're as "posh" as Guest Apartments and PVA, but a close second.

We recommended them to friends (I think they stayed in one that is in the 7th near the 6th) and they were very pleased, and they are people who pay attention to things.

The Rue Madame one is on my short-list for next time but I like all of the ones you listed, and noticed that the first one has gas burners.

cw

I just wanted to tell you that you have been most helpful to many of my questions on this thread and some others. Your insight is very valuable and I can't thank you enough.

By the pics alone these Parisian Flat apts actually look more posh than Paris Perfect, Guest Apartment Services and PVA.

In what way do you think PF is slightly less posh?

How many diff agencies have you used over the yrs in renting in Paris; which is your fav and why? Do you like to go back and forth to diff agencies or do you like to stay with the same one

Hi tripgirl. I like the rue de l'Eperon best because I like that location. They are all lovely apartments. I remember looking at some of these in the past but they did not all have AC.

I did notice the last notes AC in the living area....I'd make certain that there is AC in the bedroom as well.

elsiejune Apr 24th, 2011 11:01 AM

Hi Tripgirl,
The first flat on rue Cardinal Lemoine is certainly beautiful. Looks to be very quiet and private. Certainly a plus that it has central AC. It will be interesting to see if their monthly rate is discounted. I've always liked the flat behind Ste. Clotilde on rue Casimir Perier, with its balcony & view. At any rate, I haven't had occasion to use Parisian Flat. I prefer the location of (most)Paris Perfect apts, and their service is excellent. Of course, they have prices to match. As for agency loyalty, you should be able to access an extra discount when you frequent the same agency. Over the years we've rented from PP, Guest Apt. Services, and several direct from owner through VRBO. We've tried different neighborhoods, and were happy with all our choices. Just do your due diligence, try to get references from others who have stayed in the apts. and I'm sure you'll make the right choice. I also recommend previewing apts. for future visits whenever you are in Paris. Happy hunting, EJ

I really like that first Parisian Flat apartment. I like its privacy and seclusion. Plus that's a great neighborhood. It feels more residential and smaller scale than other Left Bank areas. Plus there's the Mouffetard market street, lots of restaurants, the Place Contrascarpe.

Leely2 Apr 24th, 2011 11:19 AM

PegS, I love the apartment you rented--and I'm a big fan of that location. I'd like to hear all about it after your trip.

tripgirl, good luck. I've always coveted the Parisian Flat apartments. Is the one on Cardinal Lemoine on the ground floor? I like that location but wouldn't be crazy about bars on the windows--unless I'm imagining something? I think the one by the Pantheon would be nice, but I prefer to be a bit away from the river. Other people feel exactly the opposite, so there you have it. Just opinion and preference.

FYI, when we rented from Guest Apartment Services years ago, we were extremely happy with both the flat and the service we received. Very correct, very French way of dealing with us.

Leely2 Apr 24th, 2011 11:46 AM

p.s. Hi, elsiejune! Are you returning to Paris in May? If so, have a wondrful trip. I just got back from Sicily so am temporarily grounded...

cw Apr 24th, 2011 01:42 PM

tripgirl, We have only stayed in two apartments--one with Parisian Flat and the other with PVA. Though, I keep a running list of attractive apartments that I read about for the next time. So we've staying in the 1st and in the 7th, on Ave. de Breteuil.

'Posh" may not be the right word for the differences in agencies. At the PVA apartment there were more supplies to get going, fluffy bathrobes, and welcoming flowers and baked goods. The information they send to you in advance (and which is available in a binder in the apartment) runs to many many pages. It covers the neighborhood, groceries, restaurants, english-speaking doctors, pediatricians, etc. etc. Perhaps the second night there, the bulb in the lamp on the bedside table stopped working. I looked in a closet I had seen that had "stuff" in it, and found an ample supply of replacement bulbs. There was a wheeled-grocery cart to use. It was as though they thought of everything for your comfort.

The PF apartment was not as well-supplied, but in all fairness, the unit we were in was being taken off the rental market so that may have had a lot to do with it. Their prices are as high or higher than PVA and I think PVA is a better value.

That said, I would not hesitate to rent from either agency again. Both accepted a credit card number in lieu of a deposit, and we had no problems at the end.

Hi Leely,
So how was Sicily??
After spending a cold and rainy week in Paris last May, we decided to wait until the fall, so hopefully we'll be there in November. Meanwhile, I'll have to get my Paris fix the best I can via Fodors. Best regards to you, EJ ((#))

tripgirl, Take a look at the recent review of a Haven in Paris apartment by Clarin, if you haven't already seen it. That agency has some gorgeous apartments.

Judy Apr 25th, 2011 09:19 AM

cw, they are very attractive but only a couple have AC and both of those are in buildings without elevators. They look great if not renting in the summer!

tripgirl Apr 25th, 2011 09:36 AM

cw and Judy,

You are both so sweet for responding!

Yes, I have see the post about HIP and she enjoyed herself immensely; so nice to hear!

I've checked HIP alot, but as Judy has said very few have A/C. And their discount for longer stays seemed to be only 5%. No worries, I really do respect that.

I do like their apts and the reviews on HIP are always great.

If we decide we are coming earlier perhaps in May, I might consider one of their apts even without A/C.

Lots of decisions...

Thanks a mil again to both of you!

tripgirl Apr 25th, 2011 09:44 AM

Does anyone else have an opinion on Parisian Flat apartments?

Does anyone think they look more lux than some of the Paris Perfect, Haven in Paris and Guest apartment Services.

I think they look more lux than many.

Thoughts all??

Judy Apr 25th, 2011 10:00 AM

I've always thought they looked on a par with Paris Perfect and Paris Vacation apartments but with more luxury bathrooms and more contemporary decor. We are always looking for apartments in Paris and I've frequently looked at Parisian Flat apts.

They just haven't worked for us.....couldn't find one that met all of our "requirements". You can probably tell, I hate to be too hot, especially when trying to sleep, so require AC in the summer. We frequently travel with our adult daughters or friends and two bedrooms, neither of which is accessed by ladder, and two full baths are important to us.

I like the look of apt. #1---but again, bars on the windows?
I like the location of apt. #2, but that's just our taste to be closer to the Seine.

We usually use Guest Apt. Service so I can't comment on Parisian Flats.

Good Luck and I'll be watching to see which you choose. A whole month in Paris----how wonderful!
