Mysterious object sighted in the skies over London
Big golden-yellow/orange glowing sort of thing. It's been giving out light all day.
Our best minds are baffled. |
??? Give us a link!
Saw one of those yesterday over Seattle. It disappeared after about five minutes, though.
Ahh, just thinking -- you must have had a sunny day!
Nope, definitely there all day, azzure. People were quite giddy with it. Some of them weren't even wearing hats.
Yep, had to be the sun. I know it's an oft hidden sight in London, PatrickLondon, but I can assure you, it exists.
hahahaha
Please send it back to California.
so hot here [cornwall] I was gardening in just my t-shirt. [well, not quite, i had wellies on as well!]
I can remember t-shirt weather here before in february, but never before in Jan. who'd have thought it? |
You can thank central Ohio. We took your fog.
The disc's been following us all over southern England all day.
But don't get excited. Snow's coming back round here on Wed night |
Refraction of Light (bending) as it passes from one medium to another with different densities would create that sort of effect when observed at a certain angle.
It's back again.
Not unpleasant, but unnervingly unfamiliar. |
Can you send it over the North Sea please?

No trousers? But what happened a week ago Cornwall folk were going in to their freezers to get warm |
reminds me of a conversation i overheard in the Sidcup Police station once - a copper was on the phone taking a report from some Aussie about things that were stolen from him - cop asked what things were stolen and then when the cop repeated 'sunglasses' he added 'what did you bring them for?'
Hmm...
It was about Dec 20 when we got the first snow. And since then, the fields have been constantly white and iron-hard - but the air's been astonishingly dry. Till this morning. Back to our familiar mud, mist and damp breezes (and that's just in the utility room). Completely forgotten what winters were: probably the first full month of freeze since 1963. Missing it already in a funny sort of way. |
I arrive tomorrow. Can you hang onto it until then?
The Sun Never Rises on the British Empire (the U.K.) it seems?
