My travel photos now online if anyone's interested
 

Had the last couple weeks off from work so finially got my last four years of travel photos on line. You guys on this forum helped me plan these trips so I though someone might be interest in seeing them. They're at: www.pbase.com/annforcier

You are really good. I thought I had some decent shots of many of the same places but you and Jim Tardio put me to shame. Tell us more ! Are you a pro? Do you use a tripod? Are you shooting all digital? Some of these shots have to be enhanced with an edit program--which one? I am green with envy--terrific composition and use of light. And, you put yourself in the right place at the right time. Do not be modest--TELL US MORE !

Please tell me you're a professional photographer! Your pictures are the best I've ever seen . . . I want to throw all mine out and put yours in my albums.

I am going to study yours and see if I can duplicate some of your shots when I go to Brugge and Brussels in March.

Isabel, if you are not a professional photographer, you should be. Those are just stunning photos, every one of them. I am looking at New England now and will probably look at all of your albums.

Gee thanks for all the nice comments. To answer some of your questions. No I'm not a professional photographer - I just love doing it. Fortunatley being obsessed with both travel and photography is a combination which goes well together.

Most of these photos were taken with a digital camera. Only the ones of Provence and the Loire and a few in England were taken in my pre-digital days, with my trusty Nikon SLR which has not been out of the closet since I went digital. All of Italy were taken with an Olympus C2100UZ (fondly referred to as the "uzi"). All the ones of Ireland were taken with a Nikon CP5700. England and France I've been to multiple times so some shots were taken with each camera.

The olympus, which is the older one (a 2 megapixel camera) is actually better with the night shots. It has an image stabelizer which the Nikon (a 5 megapixel) doesn't have. I carry a tiny 5 inch tripod which obviously has to be balanced on something so it can limit what you can do. But I just can't stand the weight of a real tripod. In fact, that's what I love about the digital cameras, they are so light weight compared to a film camera. Neither of these is exactly pocket sized but still much smaller and lighter than a full size SLR film camera.
