Ha! Funny! Contact with myself, and (limited) contact with fellow travelers and locals. Although I speak some Spanish (intermediate level),I still have difficulty with accents, not to mention catalan or valencian idioms.

If you have a car then it is worthwhile taking a journey into the mountains if you want to escape the more obvious tourist sites. It is a wonderful place of escapism and there are buses running there if private transport in not an option.
