There don't appear to be any, that's right. If you check their website, it doesn't mention anything about that, either, but that is the end of the current special exposition and there isn't one after that. So, possibly they don't think there is a need for it any more since the museum has been open a while. They never used to have them in the old days, after all. I'd probably check back in a few weeks, though, to see if they've updated that.

"So, are you saying , that if we get the museum pass then we don't need to buy these tickets.
Is that correct?" A few weeks ago, we used our museum pass and we did bypass the line. ((H)) |
maitaitom,
So the Musee L'Orangerie was on the museum pass in 2006, and you were able to use it to enter the museum? I'm wondering if it's not on the 2007 passes, as it's not on the Paris Museum Pass website. Like someone else, I tried to purchase tickets online, but there was only an exhibition over March 5th, I believe. Sandy |
Upon further checking, I did see the Musee L'Orangerie still on the Paris Museum Pass, but it wasn't in the regular list of museums. It was in a separate category billed as "closed for renovations." I wrote to them to ask whether it was still on Paris Museum passes for 2007. I also did finally find tickets on the French Virgin Megastores website. It was in French, but it looked to me as if the ticket was good for one day, but no particular time slot, so I'm not sure if it would be much of a time saver, especially if it turns out to still be on the Paris Museum Pass.

Several people have posted that they entered l'Orangerie on their Museum Pass, so that is pretty evident that the pass is accepted. Perhaps they are a bit behind in updating the website.

How 'bout this question..
If I bought a ticket via FNAC for 2:00 Wednesday, would they still accept the ticket if I arrived, say, at 3:20? or at 1:10..? |
Hi Travelnut,
Thanks! I agree... it does look like the Paris Museum Pass has been accepted recently, and they may just be behind on updating the website. However, since this is 2007, and the people who used the pass for entrance may well have done so in 2006, I wondered if things had changed for the new year. Hopefully, things haven't changed. I guess I'll find out for sure soon enough :-) Sandy |
good question-- 1:10 I'd say no. 3:20, not sure.
I know you don't have to enter at the exact time as I was shopping in Virgin Records and lost track of time for mine, so showed up about a half hour late. I figured they'd let me in, as usually timed entry refers to any time within the hour following your time. It's possible they would allow it for any time after the time on your ticket, but I wouldn't want to risk it. I'm sure they would let you in with it as a ticket, but that if you missed your time by over an hour, you may still have to wait in line with it. |
Travelnut,
A friend who reserved on FNAC for L'Orangerie last year said that she had a half an hour leeway. I think she meant that if it was for 2:00 PM, if she got there at 2:15 she'd be okay, but not if she arrived at 3:00 PM. Sandy |
Ok, sounds fair - thanks!

We were there last June (toward the end of the month) and just walked in in the late afternoon.
