The mini-chateau they live in at Le Vesinet is in the st Germaine-en-Laye area, an upscale area about ten miles west northwest of Paris center.

Personally, I wish the show featured at least one other European among the housemates. Simon, the Irish guy, is so easily overshadowed and outnumbered by the five Americans.

Ace has come around quite a bit from the first episode where he stood on the bridge proclaiming himself an "americano"... ugh.

Most of the kids on this show are such idiots, I wouldn't be interested - or have any faith - in any "travel guide" they wrote. It would be interesting to know whether Frommers was able to use anything they did during their stay in Paris.

I sincerely can not think of a worse cast for Paris. I wouldn't even go nowhere near a Frommer's Paris book to read the garbage they must have come up with.

It's funny that this post has appeared again because I just looked at the show again a few nights ago after months of not seeing it (at age 50, one doesn't schedule one's life around The Real World--I mean, let's get really real).

All I could think of was: These are booorrring people. Who chose them? I had hopes that Ace, one of the more initially irritating but still interesting ones, would grow.

Wrong.

I was interested in Simon, the one they don't show. He, at least, is interested in picking out great shoes.

Because of my job and my family, at my kitchen table there sits daily more open to new experiences, intelligent, attractive and funny young people--how could this show have found the most unlikely group ever to be fun to watch?

This was Paris! How could they blow it!

This cast is pretty dull, and the whole experience of getting a chance to live in Paris is being wasted on most of them.
One really funny moment tho. One of them, I can't remember which one, said she couldn't "believe she was getting 'in' the French Riviera" during their trip around Europe. I think perhaps no one told her that what she was getting 'in' during her swim was the Mediterranean Sea.
