Medical insurance for UK
 

We live in the USA ... we are taking our 15 year old Grandaughter to UK on vacation ... she will need medical insurance ... can anyone advise me where I can get it please?

Does she have it here ? If so, look at the policy, and if it says that emergency treatment is covered, then it will be covered there. You'll pay any bill with a credit card, whatever, and then submit the bills to her insurance company. It will reimburse you.

I called the AAA ... they offer a travel/medical coverage ... I needed just medical ...they gave me the details of the insurance company they deal with ....It's Allianz phone# 888 877 1027...and offered me medical coverage for $29...they were extremely helpful.

Agree check to see if her current coverage is valid outside the US (many private insurance is).

Also be aware that you will need a notarized letter giving you approval to take her out of the country - and to oversee her medical care if necessary.

And the UK border agents will want to see such a letter.

I assume you have medical insurance for the UK too?
