Malepensa airport
 

I will be travelling alone to join a tour group in Milan. What is the easiest/least stressing to travel from Malpensa Airport to a hotel in Milan? I'm not keen on taking a train.

Easiest way- is TAXI or limo service-but it is WAY WAY expensive since Malpensa is sooooooo far outside of Milan.....

The ticket booth is situated on the ground floor and not in the railway station, which is situated underground. It's easy to find and reach the right platform: there are clear indications. The escalator, by the side of the ticket booth, takes you directly to the platforms. There is also an automatic 24-hour ticket machine, which is a good alternative to the traditional ticket counter. In May 2000, we took a taxi from the Grand Majestic Hotel in Milan to Malpensa, Terminal 1. It was quick (under an hour) probably because it was a Sunday morning and no traffic. Cost was about $40, but well with it after 14 days in Italy.

I too was alone, couldn't afford the taxi ride which I recall was closer to $80, but anyway. Once you leave the luggage go into the main lobby, you'll see places to buy tickets for the bus into town, (even if arriving late at night). It leaves very frequently, is comfortable and will take you right into town to the central train station. From there it will be very easy to get a taxi to your hotel.

Hi Bailey,<BR><BR>You really shouldn't worry at all about traveling from Malpensa to your hotel alone. It's not a scary thing.<BR><BR>The express train goes right from the air terminal to Cadorna Nord station. Takes about 50 minutes and leaves frequently. Not expensive &amp; no traffic jams. From the Cadorna Nord station, just grab a taxi to your hotel. Be sure to take one from the official taxi stand, give your driver the address &amp; ask the price before you get in.<BR><BR>I've traveled by myself in France &amp; Italy for a few days each time. No problems at all. Just use common sense.<BR><BR>Buon viaggio!
