His name is actually spelled Bernard Loiseau (without the "x") and his restaurant closest to Lyon is called La Cote D'Or and is in the town of Saulieu in Burgundy.

Please forgive the x.
I read recently that the restaurant has retained its 3 stars in the new Michelin guide; Mme. Loiseau is now in charge. |
Underhill: Please, I don't have a problem with spelling errors on internet message boards. I've made mistakes on my own, especially on nouns. I just thought I'd chip in with my information. Anyway, you are right. The restaurant had re-gained it's 3-stars a couple of months back. The whole corporation (in addition to the other restaurants in Paris and the food/boutique stores) is now headed by the wife. However, it was a long-time associate of Bernard Loiseau who took over as the head chef at La Cote D'Or. I believe his name was Patrick Bertron (sp?). |
Just a follow-up.
Loiseau's restaurant did not lose it's 3-stars. From what I remember, it was just under review and that Loiseau, allegedly, killed himself thinking that it was going to be downgraded. I just thought I 'd clarify and provide my agreement with Underhill's original statement. |
