If you forget to buy your Lush bars when you travel to Europe and need some gift items for friends, I have a suggestion: Marshall's (yeah, the dumpy discount place) often carries European soaps and they do not cost $12 a bar--not to mention the trouble to carry them back.
It is just a suggestion--and it is one I have been known to use myself. My absolutely favorite soap item comes from the National Trust shops in the UK: Little soaps shaped like green wellies. Anyone who has every gotten a "pair" has gushed over them. I think no one but me actually uses them because they are so cute. |
My, oh, my, bath supplies always seem to be a hot topic :-)
I don't mind carrying a few things home for a friend and I may even find a few things I need! And the shipping charges from the UK are absurd! |
I once got a box of Scottish shortbread from the local gourmet food shop when I found I did not have enough to give all the gifts I needed to give. I carefully removed the American dollar price.
Maybe if we wait long enough discontinued Lush scents will turn up in Marshall's--LOL. |
Had my first visit to Lush 3 weeks ago, when I found one on Kensington High Street. I was intrigued but also traveling light, so all I bought was some very nice bath fizzers for my grandson back here in the US. (He liked them so much that he used 2 for one bath, and had very VERY soft skin!)
We'll be in England again at the end of May, flying BritAir, and I want to get more stuff (for me too this time). I did not notice a Lush shop in Terminal 4 -- is it there, or another Terminal building? |
Now that you ask I can't remember which terminal I was flying out of - it was United Air Lines, so whichever one that is. And the lush store is before you go through any of the security checks, before the huge duty free area. Although it's not duty free, it's the same price as the other Lush Stores in Lodnon. Still you save shipping costs that you'd have if you ordered it on the internet and you don't have to lug it all over London.

Thanks, Isabel. I think United uses Terminal 3, far from BA's Terminal 4. Hmm, unless I got off the train early and got back on...
