Hey, don't forget about me; I want
to meet Giancarlo too.

longdistance relationoship expert Apr 24th, 2002 08:10 AM

Lucy, Calm down. Three months is a long time and if you wish them away you will never have them back again. Also, the anticipation can lead to unrealistic expectations.

A. Finish your story
B. Live every day
C. Let what will come, come

Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 08:14 AM
My pulse is racing, my hands are trembling, my heart is joyful!
He loves me !

Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 08:20 AM

He said the most beautiful words I have ever heard.
When he told me that he loved me I said
"you love me I can't believe it".
He then said
"if you were no more than a peasant girl
I would kiss the hem of your gown my dear".

Kiss the hem of my gown ---------
what lovely words.

Betsy Apr 24th, 2002 08:26 AM

Add me to your guest list, Lucy. I live in CA, too

Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 09:12 AM

My, my it looks like my narration has been hi-jacked. The last time I posted was 4/23 at 5:20pm. Maybe the Lucy impersonaters can finish for me. I will just sum up the trip quickly and let the other Lucy take over, there is no way for you to know which one of us is real anyway. This is a public forum afterall. We had dinner in Pienza "Latte di Luna". They know the owner, Roberto, and we sat for a long time talking with him after he closed and some Americans were finishing their dinner slowly.
Then we whirlwind toured through some neighboring towns, and stopped at their friend's pottery studio. He makes sculpted pottery, that can be used for plants, etc. The back to the farm house for limoncello.

Grasshopper Apr 24th, 2002 09:15 AM

I didn't think that sounded like the level headed Lucy! REGISTRATION!!!

Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 09:39 AM

I don't know who posted at 1:12pm but she ( must be the wicked alter-ego).
She can continue with my lovely story.

Lucy (the original and last one) Apr 24th, 2002 09:43 AM

I will just quickly tell about the last day in Tuscany for those of you who may visit. The next day we drove to the Chianti area and went to many small wineries that were their favorites. Some just in barns or cellars of houses. We tasted a lot of them, the most wine I had ever tasted before noon! Then we went to Castellina in Chianti for a slow lunch at L’Albergaccio. Slow food restaurants are their antidote to fast food, you eat slowly and savor your food in each long course. It doesn’t mean that the waiters were inattentive, they are there right there when you need them. The purpose is to value the love of food. A very good place to eat. They were preparing for a wedding outdoors while we were having desserts.
By the way, the wine we had there was really good and inexpensive, Anagallis 1997.

We were on what they call the white road, because it is cement-like white, not tar covered. You can see it winding a white ribbon before and behind you, between the cypress and olive trees.

We had dinner in San Gimigiano, I don’t have my notes with me, but it was really a good one, so I will post the name tomorrow.

Then the next day, G. drove me back to Roma, I won’t elaborate on this day or go into details because you really don’t know which is the real me anymore. But it has been fun reliving my trip with you Fodorites. Bye for now. I am not going to post again until tomorrow with my San G. restaurant. Thanks for reading and responding! Signing off….
Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 10:10 AM

Where was I?
Oh yes ... G. and I were going to a romantic lunch. I couldn't wait to grab the big hard Italian salami.

Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 10:22 AM

To the most "recent" Lucy;
I wouldn't now or ever have written things like the previous post.

This is becoming too much to handle.
A few hours ago I was very happy!
That's all for me.
Let everyone else complete my story
I will spend my time looing forward to Giancarlo's visit.
Thank you all.

Lucy's Mother Apr 24th, 2002 10:28 AM
This is Lucy's mother and this is getting too weird for me ! I can't tell who is who anymore.

Scorecard Apr 24th, 2002 10:30 AM

Lucy 1 won't be back.
Lucy 2 is a fake who "got the phone call"
Lucy 3 is just plain disgusting (maybe JIm who wants to shoot himself)

The story is over. Fakes have ruined the thread.

Rita Apr 24th, 2002 10:39 AM

I was amazed that it took so long for someone to ruin a nice thread. Oh well, if you are reading, Lucy, we enjoyed it for the while, just wanted you to know that.

Fake Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 10:45 AM

I confess
I'm sorry
Please forgive me
It was JUST a joke

PS
I didn't write the SALAMI email
or the MOTHER email
Lucy Apr 24th, 2002 10:48 AM

To the Fake Lucy,

I forgive you! But, even good things must come to an end.
Disappointed Apr 24th, 2002 10:55 AM

Can't Fodors check the email address of the original Lucy and erase all the others? Don't they see where the posts are coming from? I always wondered that anyway.

crp Apr 24th, 2002 10:59 AM

Let's just move on; afterall there are
bigger things to worry ourselves about.
I enjoyed it while it lasted.

freida Apr 24th, 2002 11:12 AM

Lucy,

Remember the book (that you haven't read)--the TRUE one that I told you (all) to get...????? Well, in the ITALIAN AFFAIR, her Italian "lover" also comes to visit her in California, so now...you absolutely MUST read it!!

Marie Apr 24th, 2002 11:52 AM

What do you mean "also"? The last true Lucy post was today at 1:43pm, I know her very well, she is not posting until tomorrow with the restaurant name.
And before that her last post was on 4/23 at 5:20pm. I know this for a fact.
The others are Lucy - wannabes. That is ok, too. Like she said, it is a public forum, people can write what they want, she will just have to start writing books, like I have told her for years.
My last post too.
