Long weekend trip
 

We have a four day weekend in May from school. We live in Dusseldorf. Give me your favorite 4-day weekend trips that you have been on, we have done Paris/AMS/ROME/BEL/Barcelona all the really popular places I see on the boards. We can drive, but prefer to fly. Would like some nice weather. :) Looking for something a little bit different, we have been to 25 countries.

May <i>ought</i> to be nice weather pretty well anywhere in Europe.

You don't mention Venice, or is that getting too hot and crowded by then? Or what about going east or north - Budapest or Tallinn, say? Or a few days walking in some mountain scenery? I enjoyed (somewhat to my surprise) a few days in Stubaital in the Tirol:

Venice we have been to. Budapest is high on the list.

I think we will want a week for Croatia. That is high on my wish list.
