Perhaps it should be for a Shepherdess

It is definately callled Gillespie Rd. There are tiles and everything:

Now; what station used to be callled Battlebridge? And which station had a pub on it's platform (I can remember this- although I was too young to partake)

I'm not too young to have had a beer in Baker Street station but can't remember if it were right on the platform(s)

There may have been others - but i was thinking of the Hole in the Wall at sloane square.

It's closed now and has been since the 70s I think.

Battlebridge = no, it couldn't be could it..... Mornington Crescent?!

Here's a way of really wasting some time:

Wasn't the area around either Euston or St.Pancras once known as "battlebridge?"

PatrickLondon Apr 28th, 2007 12:53 AM

Which was why I suggested Mornington Crescent, but I don't think that's right. I don't think it's either Euston or King's Cross because the mainline stations were there before the tube. I'm wondering about one of the stations serving Hampstead Heath since that's nearer where the battle itself took place.

Battlebridge is Kings Cross.
