Hi Pop,
It's been a long time since we last visited London, so I can't really help with hotels. We do like Bloomsbury. I think 90 GBP/nite is sufficient for a very pleasant hotel. ((I)) |
You could try priceline and just limited your hotel selection to these areas ... of course it is a gamble since you never know what you are getting. Check biddingfortravel.com if interested for bidding advice, etc. I've never used Priceline, but thought about it often.

I used Priceline recently to book a hotel in London for one night. I got the Thistle Charing Cross for under about $137.50, I think.
It's not in one of your two areas, but it's very central, near Trafalgar Square. |
Oops -- sorry -- posted too early.
Was going to say that my backup choice was Garth B&B at 85 pounds a night. It's in Bloomsbury. I don't have any first-hand experience with this B&B. I don't think that 90 pounds will carry you very far in London, but I'm not all that familiar with London hotels myself. Personally I think that Priceline is the way to go for London. For the same price your alternative is probably a B&B. |
90GBP is certainly doable.
There is frequent poster here who often recommends the Arosfa Hotel in the Bloomsbury area. If I recall correctly she describes the rooms as quite small but the stay to be a very pleasant one. Rates ran under 90GBP. I googled a website, tho I haven't looked at it: http://www.arosfalondon.com/ I agree with 111op that Priceline is good bet in London if you're fine with the issues of 2 people per room and no guarantee on the bed configuration. 4 stars can be had for $75-$120 night. Definitely the way to go. |
