My initial email request to Hilton Honors was declined because the reservation was made thru a travel discount site. Still hoping that my gold status earned in 2008 is worthy of loyalty for a twin room request ;-) Of course, I'm OK if it doesn't happen (I knew that going in with bidding on PL) but will hope for the best.

Gina - don't give up. Just bring your VIP card along and show it off when you check-in... tell them that you probably will be ordering room service and want those charges to count. BTW, if the check-in has a dedicated VIP check-in line, go straight to that instead of the regular check-in. Never hurts to "play dumb" in my book.

You will probably get a twin room anyway. That's the default in most instances in London, I have found.

Don't worry - Every time I've done PL in London, I was asked at check in if 1) I was a member of the rewards/honors program and 2) what bed arrangement I wanted.

Was not treated any differently that I could tell from any other type of booking.

Update on Hilton Green Park Stay.

All was well at Hilton Green Park. Although the room wasn't as nice as the one I had Crowne Plaza - The City, the location was spectacular. Upon check-in, I again requested a twin room which was no problem. I gave them my HHilton membership card and a few minutes after arriving in my room, the front desk was calling to let me know due to my gold status i could receive complimentarty breakfast each morning. The breakfast buffet was one of the biggest I've seen - lots of fresh fruit, juices, eggs, meats, cheeses, toasts, cereals, etc. Eggs, pancakes and french toast could be requested/made to order. The room was fine, comfortable and clean. They're in the midst of installing central heat/air conditioning. The staff was very pleasant and concierge made us a few dinner reservations on request. I'd say for $95/night, it was a great place to be and I'd recommend it to others. A short walk thru the park and you arrive at Buckingham Palace!! Thanks again for the advice...I could become a big fan of Priceline.

Gina - thanks for reporting back. Free breakfast! That's fantastic. I bet it probably costs something like £15 normally (that's the cost for buffet breakfast at the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum).

I haven't stayed there, but I thought it might help others to know that I just received a Travelocity "fare update" that shows prices of the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum starting at $111(USD) a night, depending on the date and day of week, of course.

I wanted to tell you more good news. I just checked my hilton account and I received points for my stay even though I booked it (and paid it) thru Priceline. Thanks to yk for suggesting I contact the hotel (for my requests) if I was a hHilton member - seems by showing my gold card at checkin scored me some points (and nights stayed in 2009) as well as free breakfast!! Doesn't get much better :-)

Gina - that's fabulous! too bad they didn't do the same for me when I stayed at a Holiday Inn via PL. I'm glad your first PL experience turned out to be so positive (after reading many negative experiences from PL virgins.)

Yes, my first PL experience was great. My experience on biddingfortravel was not as positive(I got banned)but in the end her advice helped me get a 4* for < $100 a night.
