I stayed at the Sheraton Skyline, on a priceline bid of about 45 pounds, in late March. We were pleased with the hotel and thought it was a good value at the price. One thing to watch out for if you're staying there on a Friday night. The hotel regularly hosts a very loud party, called Mumbai Night (or something similar). It's certainly entertaining to see the late teens and twenty-somethings dressed up and enjoyed the music and atmosphere, but make sure you ask for a quiet room - otherwise the noise might keep you up late. You can get to the Skyline on the city buses that leave from central terminal at Heathrow and it's a free ride (don't waste your money on the Hoppa Bus).

More recently (early July), when I was having difficulty getting a 4* hotel at a decent price through Priceline, I ended up booking the 3* Jury's Inn Heathrow through ba.com (our flight was booked through BA). We were quite pleased with the hotel, which has either just been built or just been renovated. It is very conveniently located, about a 2 minute walk from the Hatton Cross tube stop. You can catch the tube from the central terminal (T1-T3) at Heathrow, or, if you're flying in or out of T4, there is a shuttle bus that runs between Hatton Cross and the airport. (Currently, the tube doesn't run all the way to T4, due to construction relating to T5.) There are courtesy porters at Hatton Cross, down on the tube platform and up above at street level, to help you carry bags up and down the stairs (because there's no lift).
