London Hilton Hotel Heathrow airport

I have to look for a Hotel at London
Heatrow airport for one night, and was
reading about the Hilton, that is connected
to one of the airport gates.
I am going to go through Piceline, and would
like a feedback about this Hotel, or any
other at the Heathrow airport area.
Thanks.

I went through Priceline for a Heathrow hotel for September and got the Sheraton so don't count on getting the Hilton.

The Hilton is at T4 which is useless if your flight is from T1/2/3

I just stayed at the Sheraton Skyline Heathrow hotel on July 12th. It was a very nice hotel. We are a family of four and got one room with 2 queen beds for 129gbp. It even has an enclosed pool.

While I have not stayed at the Hilton, I would recommend checking out the Sheraton. You say that it is connected to the airport gates;but are you sure?
We had to take a shuttle as all the hotels seem to be a little ways from the airport. Also, the shuttle runs to all the hotels and there is a 3gbp charge for adults.

The Hilton at Heathrow is connected to Terminal 4 - not the gates.

Unlike some airports there are no hotels at LHR past security & hence have access to gates

Which terminal are you using? T-1, 2 and 3 are basically next door to each other. Terminal 4, and the attached Hilton are across three counties (only a slight exaggeration)

Most PL hotels are close to T-1,2,3 so if you are using one of those, PL is great. But you definitely can't pick which hotel you get.

The Hilton at T4 is nice, but only worthwhile if you are flying to/from T4. It is generally more expensive than other hotels around Heathrow.

If you are flying in/out of T1-3, then you can get a bus (the hotel Hoppa) from the terminals to any hotel. I've stayed in most. Suggest you try the Marriot, Crown Plaza or Rennaisance. Stay well away from the Heathrow Shereton (different from the Skyline) - its a dump and way overpriced.

I always stay here regardless of which gate i fly in to..You just take the train(free) a few stops and there are luggage carts at the stations. Then take a short walk on a covered overpass to the Hilton.

Dukey Jul 30th, 2006 12:55 PM

Just to clarify..the hotel I got through Priceline at Heathrow is, in fact, the Skyline.

Carrybean Jul 30th, 2006 01:51 PM

I stayed at the Sheraton Skyline also & it was nice & convenient since I had rented a car & it was right around the corner from the car rental place. I'd also heard the other Sheraton was bad but know nothing about the Hilton.

< You just take the train(free) a few stops >

one stop - ie you get on the train and get off it at the next stop.

THANKS, for all the information.
I don't know which gate I am going to
fly from.... I am returning to Miami from Dublin.
I will go through Priceline, or Hotwire
and ask for a 4 stars and see what happens.

OReilly Jul 30th, 2006 04:13 PM

You'll arrive FROM Dublin into Terminal 1 (assuming you are flying Aer Lingus, BMI or BA). What airline are you flying to Miami? If you check the following website, it will tell you which terminal your airline flies from:

I am arriving to Terminal 1 and leaving from terminal 3, I just checked at
the website you told me.
So I think the Hilton is out of the question.
I will try .the other 4 stars Hotels.
THANKS.

I am arriving into Terminal 4 from Paris on BA and am leaving the next morning from Terminal 3 on Virgin Atlantic to Miami.
Is there a bus or train that just goes one stop to Terminal 3 or does it make the loop from 4 and stops at 1, 2 and then 3.
I was planning on staying at the Hilton, but maybe it makes as much sense to stay at a nearby hotel such as the ones you all have mentioned.
Any opinions?

OReilly Jul 31st, 2006 05:13 PM

In your case glslebs, I would consider staying at the Hilton at T4 (about a 5 minute walk through tunnel from the arrival area. However, it is generally more expensive than other Heathrow hotels. For example, I usually get a 4-STAR for around 100-120 GBP while the Hilton can be between 140-180 GBP (last week they wanted over 500 GBP!!!!). Check out the price and decide. Next morning, just take the Heathrow/Paddington express (free of charge) from T4 to the station that serves the other terminals and walk to T3 (about 5-10 minutes).

The alternative is to take the express from T4 on the evening you arrive to the station that serves the other terminals, walk to any one of the terminals (anyone know which is closer – I think T1 or T2 ?), look for the signs for the Hotel Hoppa and take the bus (3 GBP) to your hotel. Take the Hoppa or an approximate 15 GBP taxi from the hotel next morning to the airport.

Personally, I would pay the extra 9as long as it was not excessive) to have the convenience of staying at the Hilton.

I just got the Sheraton Skyline at Priceline for October for 114 USD plus taxes. I don't think it was a very good deal, after what I have read here...:(

Dukey Aug 1st, 2006 01:26 AM

I think at about 120 US Dollars THAT is a VERY GOOD deal.

Carrybean Aug 1st, 2006 01:27 AM

Tere, I can't remember what I paid a few years back at the Skyline but it was a LOT more than that.

Dukey Aug 1st, 2006 01:28 AM

Since it is only about 65 UK Pounds.
