This one ( to my understanding) was for their conversion of foreign currency charges for 7 years! <

Actually, no one has admitted to or been shown to have engaged in illegal practices.

The suit claimed that AMEX failed to properly notify its customers that there was a 2 point conversion fee.

I recall reading the boiler plate that came with my AMEX card.

The fee was mentioned.

I should have listened to my father, who told me to go to law school. :)

Oh, good--we received one too and I was going to do some research into whether or not it was a scam, but it looks like ira has already done the legwork.

FWIW, I did note that any money left in the pot after everyone gets their share will go to a charity.
