Limoncello

What is limoncello? Alcohol; non-alcoholic?
I've seen it mentioned many times here, but not what it is.....thanks.

It's a sweet, lemony after-dinner drink, served ice cold. Yes, it's alcoholic... and delicious!

Hi!

Limoncello is sort of like a vodka lemonade and is served as an after dinner drink.

Limoncello is an alcoholic after dinner drink made with lemons most commonly from the Amalfi coast.

I don't know the specific recipe but I believe it is grain alcohol infused with lemons. You sip it from a shot glass. The key is to keep the bottle in the freezer.....makes a big difference in taste.

I noticed that Lemoncello tasted different in each restaurant...it is very yummy....great after dinner drink.

On Princess cruises, they make a wonderful sorbet with it.

It's made by infusing lemon peel in grain alcohol; you mix in a sugar-water syrup later on.

My boyfriend made some not too long ago. Less sweet than the stuff he had back from a business trip to Italy but still too sweet for us. Less sugar in the next batch!

If you want to make your own limoncello, go to www.beveragerecipe.com. It's not very difficult to make, and it tastes delicious.
