I have been out delivering newspapers today (yes, yes, I know)- and the car thermometer kept saying 12.5- 13 degrees.

I am, however, burned raw.

Thanks, everyone. We're not doing serious enough walking to warrant bringing our hiking boots, and I'm still deciding about the sandals.

It's warm and sunny here in London on Monday afternooon - which as every red blooded male knows, sure as eggs is eggs; tomorrow is Tit Tuesday! Hooray for Tit Tuesday!

sheila Apr 30th, 2007 12:07 PM

David! Behave!

Elendi, take your sandals. I was in London today and ended up BUYING some, my feet were so sore in ordinary shoes.

ElendilPickle Apr 30th, 2007 03:04 PM

OK, Sheila, you've convinced me! They'll fit in Mr. Pickle's Godzilla-sized suitcase, too.

David, I'm not sure I want to know... :-D

I was right - it is Tit Tuesday!

Sigh.
Why is it that the average British female looks so gorgeous in the Summer and the average British male looks such a mess?

The dreaded shorts have started to appear.
Mrs O. says that white, hairy, male British
legs look like pipe-cleaners.
I must say that I have to agree with her.

On Saturday I wore sandals. Today I'm wearing 2 jumpers and sheepskin boots :-(

I've been here for a week now, and it hasn't rained once. And from now on I'm going to call it Sunny Scotland. Although it's still been chilly enough for me to have a light jacket or sweater, unless we are doing lots of walking......I've seen no indication it rains in Britain ;)

MissPrism May 6th, 2007 02:08 AM

It has been beautifully sunny and warm here all week, so I had decided to get the barbecue out today.
It has turned fairly chilly and windy and rain is forecast :-)

sheila May 6th, 2007 02:39 AM

It's a gorgeous morning, and the weather forecast if for 60mph gales in the afternoon

caroline_edinburgh May 6th, 2007 03:22 AM

Sunny, very windy and raining, all at once !!

That's enough about John Reid...

noe847 May 6th, 2007 04:54 AM

haydeedoll, how IS the trip going?

sheila May 6th, 2007 05:30 AM

It's STILL glorious. Why am I in the office?

caroline_edinburgh May 6th, 2007 07:18 AM

Hi Sheila - if it's any consolation, I am too. Is it not quite cold and windy, albeit sunny, there ?

BTilke May 6th, 2007 07:29 AM

The clouds have rolled in and it's much breezier. I rushed to get the last load of laundry washed and out on the line before the rains start to come.
I could kick myself. One of our neighbors has a beautiful lilac tree, with the blooming lilacs a lush purple color, much darker than usual. Early last week, I had planned to take a photo of them against the deep blue of the sunny, totally cloudless skies. I kept forgetting to bring the camera down from the top floor of our cottage and now it's too late...the blooms are fading and the skies have turned. Dang!
:-(

sheila May 6th, 2007 07:37 AM

No. There's a bit of a chill in the air, but it's been lovely till about 20 minutes ago. It's getting a wee bit overcast now, but it did that yesterday

caroline_edinburgh May 6th, 2007 07:46 AM

That's not fair !!

BTilke May 7th, 2007 08:50 AM

We had a few showers today but the big change was the return of the blustery winds.
My husband flew to Brussels from Heathrow this afternoon and said it was a very turbulent, almost white-knuckle takeoff and landing. And he is usually a nonchalant air traveler.
