If you saw pictures of a couchette compartment you'd instantly want to pay extra for a private cabin in the Sleeping Car!

Yes, I'd be curious to see the difference. I slept on the top bunk and was quite comfortable.

Well picture six persons luggage all over the floor and folks coming and going to the loo all night - maybe the odd loud snorer - a huge difference but also in price.
