I haven't stayed in a low-end hotel in Krakow, but stayed right near the Campanile and saw it, and do think that is a good location and choice in that category. It's in a quieter area, also.

It would be perfectly safe for a teenager who only speaks English to walk around the main square area. It isn't a dangerous place or anything, it's a major city and is used to tourists. I would think a hotel right on the main square would be noisy, but you'd have to go with the reviews. I imagine such a hotel could have rooms over the square as well as in the back, and it might differ. There aren't really hardly any hotels right on the square anyway, though, although I can think of one that is higher end and maybe the one you are thinking of.

We stayed at the Radisson, which was an easy walk to the square. The decor is very futuristic---like nothing I've ever seen. We had to take pictures of our room. Your teens would love it.

Oh, I'm so sorry, I totally missed that. Thank you!
