Besides, reneeinva, just think what a lifesaver you would be, if the power went out on the plane or something. You'd have the adapter, transformer, voltage regulator, converter, vibrator, and a pair of jumper cables, and of course the light bulb, right there in your carry-on! :))

I'm very concerned. Would it be best to arrive without light bulbs??? Or should I bring a few light bulbs just to get started, and purchase the rest as I go along?

I understand that in Europe many lights are on timers. You have to press a switch at the bottom of the stairs to turn the light and timer on. There's a switch at the top of the stairs as well.

If I have to bring my own light bulbs, do I have to bring the switches too?

We are family of 3.6 adults and 1.7 bimbos. We just started planning an indepth tour of 9 foreign countries. All of us are pretty laid back and don't like to rush into anything, so we thought it would be real nice to go over a long weekend, may be this next weekend. Do you think this will leave enough time to change light bulbs and still make our next connection? Have any of you ever gone by water taxi to London from Venice and still have time to see the Queen? O! I just love light bulbs...so contropical.

Buy your bulbs in Paris, shaped like the Eiffel Tower. Wear your wedding dress while riding on the camels back, the tourists will enjoy that. Wear the pink jogging suit into the Louvre, everyone will think you were the model for the clown paintings. Above all have a laughing time "lighting"up the City of Light.
