jnn, you'll need an adapter, a transformer, a voltage regulator, a converter, a vibrator, and a pair of jumper cables. Good luck!

Dahlings, you are all sniveling amateurs, why, I have changed more lightbulbs than your simple minds can even imagine. Or am I the one with the simple mind.....how confusing....bye now......

joegri Mar 13th, 2004 06:11 PM

sheila: The list is incomplete. There would be at least three responses that would state "I have the light bulb, please tell where to place it.

Clifton Mar 13th, 2004 06:18 PM

And 47 of them would take the opportunity to tell them exactly where to place it.

Cassandra Mar 13th, 2004 07:03 PM

At least 5 to gritch (Olde American for "whinge") about censors deleting the first thread about changing the light bulb.

susanna Mar 13th, 2004 07:37 PM

Is there a place to change the lightbulb where not EVERYONE is speaking english?

icithecat Mar 13th, 2004 07:51 PM

Jumper cables for your vibrator?

Wow, Marilyn needs real power.

He he.

harzer Mar 13th, 2004 08:45 PM

Y'all forgot ttt

or should that be on-on-on

Harzer

Marilyn Mar 13th, 2004 08:53 PM

Not for me, dear ici, but for jnn! I've got solar power.

GSteed Mar 13th, 2004 09:49 PM

Problem reading or seeing? Change the bulb. Buy 100 watt lamp/bulbs at a local store. Ensure base is same as in lodging supplied fixtures.

Hi all,

i am thinking about possibly planning a trip to australia sometime or other. i have heard that below the equater the seasons are reversed and that the water turns the other way when it goes down the drain.

if i have to change a lightbulb in australia, do i screw it in in the opposite direction???????

all information about where to go, what to do, what to see, where to stay, where and what to eat will be greatly appreciated.

reneeinva Mar 14th, 2004 04:07 AM

OK. I have the adapter, transformer, a voltage regulator, a converter, a vibrator, and a pair of jumper cables...and of course the light bulb.

My question is, how can I pack all of this so nothing gets wrinkled?

I leave in 2 months! Help!

Croque_Madame Mar 14th, 2004 06:58 AM

Marilyn: your solar power reply to "dear ici" induced the image of vibrator use on a sun drenched beach, which led to the thought of an entire nudist colony happily buzzing away en masse among the sand dunes.

Thanks to you, the next time I doze off on a beach blanket in the sand and hear a droning noise nearby, I won't assume it's mosquitoes.

starspinners Mar 14th, 2004 07:01 AM

Which is cheaper: purchasing the light bulb and having it mailed to me before I leave on my trip OR buying it once I am there?
If I buy it there should I go for a carnet of bulbs OR is a daily bulb a better deal? Is there a weekend bulb? What about a 7 day bulb? ;-)

BrimhamRocks Mar 14th, 2004 07:24 AM

(rolling around laughing, after having just spit iced tea all over the computer screen, LOL)

Gardyloo Mar 14th, 2004 08:04 AM

Rick Steves to buy your bulbs fresh from mom-and-pop bulbardiers; don't gamble with the pre-packaged ones sold by Gypsy children for next to nothing. Turns out that's what they're worth. I must have gone through a dozen before I figured out that something labeled "50 whats" was not the real deal. Sheesh.

Gardyloo Mar 14th, 2004 08:04 AM

That's Rick Steves says...

RufusTFirefly Mar 14th, 2004 08:15 AM

Jeez, shiela--
"How many forum members does it TAKES to change a light bulb?" should be

I don't know why you would ever want to change a light bulb - incandecent light fixtures are overrated. Instead what you should do is: 1) maximize the natural light through additional windows/skylights/reflectors - south facing is best. 2) use dripless candles.

Marilyn Mar 14th, 2004 08:37 AM

reneeinva, you can't PACK such valuables, you silly girl!! You must carry them on. Think of what a dark nightmare your trip would be if they were lost in transit! Be sure to allow an extra few hours going through security -- I have always found them very interested in esoteric electronic devices.
