BAHItaly,
Having a car for the itinerary you describe is really not a good idea. Also, if you haven't already bought air tickets and this is the itinerary you want, suggest flying into either Pisa first (and immediately taking a train to le Cinque Terre) or flying into Milan and immediately taking a train to Verona. Even if you must fly into Florence, then suggest getting on a train and going to Verona to sleep your first night. From Verona you wouldn't need a car to visit Sirmione. From Verona you could take trains to le Cinque Terre and then put Florence altogether at the end of your trip if you must fly out of Florence. Visit Lucca as a day trip from Florence. Just as an aside, you could end up rather disappointed with your short stays in Lago di Garda and le Cinque Terre if you get rainy weather, which is a distinct possibility at any time in April in Europe. Suggest you not make unrefundable hotel reservations, and have a plan B in case you want to change your mind once you see what the weather is. |
nt is night I gather ?
Pfff . not only do I have to learn a bloody foreign language but these bloody natives don't even write the way we are taught. |

Looking at driving.
l night Florence Ariive 2 nights Lake Garda- Verona, Siemione 3 nights Florence- Uffizi, day trip to Tuscany, Siena 2 nights Cinque Terra-Lucca 1 nite Florence Depart any thoughts?> (put in night for WoinParis's (in)ability to understand it! Cars are useless in all those places -a complete hassle - like frencharmoire says - cities don't allow cars usually in city centers and Lake Garda is best IMO by boat - Sirmione is completely mobbed in season -hardly room for elbows lest a car. Florence simply awful - take the train - no even a matter of debate for your itin (for WoeinParis itinerary) - even buses go all the time in about an hour Florence to Siena. |
