Italy to Monaco?
Can anyone offer advice on a ferry or bus from Florence to Monaco?

EuB - Why not go by train?
www.trenitalia.com There is a Eurolines bus service Florence-Nice - but it doesn't appear to stop in Monaco. http://www.eurolines.it/pdf/orari/fr...0Perpignan.pdf Hope this helps ... Steve |
Hi eu,
You are aware that there is a train from Florence to Monte Carlo (via Genoa) for 32E? See www.trenitalia.com. ((I)) |
I had looked at the train but it went up to Milan and then back to Monaco. Seemed longer than if there was a water route.
Thanks for your input. |
Check www.trenitalia.it again. The route is Florence-Pisa-Genova-Monte Carlo. 7-8 hours.
If there was direct ferry service to Monte Carlo, it would most likely be from Livorno or Genova, but as far as I know there is no direct service. You might be able to cobble together a series of ferries along the coast, but they would be "locals" stopping many times. Your total journey would take much longer than 8 hours. But Google Livorno/Monte Carlo and Genova/Monte Carlo ferry service and see what comes up. |
Do you have the impression that Florence and Monte Carlo share some kind of waterway? I don't get the whole idea of a ferry from land-locked Florence. And I don't know of boat services that are faster than trains.

I was looking at Livorno to Monaco via water.
