Yes indeed! Home is Full moon in Positano that my son took (incredible!) and the office has a photo we took of the Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day with the fireworks going off.

Yes, right now it is a gorgeous sunset view from the living room in the Villa Bouganville in Massa Lubrense. We stayed there a few years ago and I still dream about it. Wish I could be there right now!

I will alternate between that one and a spectacular view of the Bay of Naples from the Il Frutetto also in Massa Lubrense. Just beautiful! I keep dreaming!

Yes, I recently saved a picture that we took of Notre Dame on my computer at work. My computer has a picture taken by someone else(probably a Fodor's poster, I don't remember) of a street in the Latin Quarter. It always makes me smile when I think of everything we saw in Paris.

Of course!! At home my desktop has a pic I took of a lovely summer day in Bergen, Norway. At work I have my favorite pic of my Swiss hiking trip. It's Klein Scheidegg, where I had a stop on my way up Jungfrau.

Robespierre, that's the ugliest desktop pic I've ever seen--but funny as heck!! I might just borrow that someday when I'm in a bad mood. LOL!! :-))

yes, a photo of Angles Sur L'Anglin, a village fleuri in Poitou near friends in the department of the Vienne.
I had notecards made with the photo I snapped outside the Bistro du Paradou and a framed poster Jean-Louis gave me that someone had painted of the outside.
I'll visit next week to both places again.

Is your desktop a travel pic? Why, of COURSE it is, silly!

Mine is a picture of Lake Garda, as seen from a lakeside cafe in Riva.

Oh wow, these are great! Actually, my desktop is usually a painting by Luidmila Kondakova. I bought a screensaver from www.SecondNature.com with a bunch of Paris paintings by her. You can see her paintings here:
http://www.chalk-vermilion.com/kondakova_frameset.html

The paintings are beautiful & evoke that sense of Paris but the funny thing is that many of the details don't coincide. For instance, she has a painting of Chez Julien but the sign on the side of the building says Rue St-Julien-le-Pauvre (in the Latin Quarter) while the real Chez Julien is on the rue des Barres in the Marais. Still, they're pretty.

My screensaver is a montage of my travel photos; mostly Paris & Cincinnati. But the desktop of Luidmila changes daily on its own.

Diane, what a great photo (and a great thread)!

Isabel, you're Ann Forcier? Your photos are STUNNING!

Could you e-mail me? I need to ask you a question.

Thanks & ciao!

Here's another huge recommendation for Webshots. You can instantly make a fabulous screensaver with your own photos.

I have both wallpaper and screensavers. Windows XP has the option to use whatever is in the 'My Pictures' folder as a slideshow screensaver. I also have a programme from www.wallpaperchanger.de that changes the wallpaper every time I log on, from a selection of my favourite photos. I've also put a lot into my work computer, so my screensaver attracts many intrigued comments from my colleagues.

No, I have Jack Bailey and Mrs. Hanley.

Though I do have the shortcut for a webcam in Venice on my PC desktop--I check it out several times a day.

Since we are leaving for Italy in 48 hours and our first stop is Venice, it is my picture of my son, 9 at the time, in Piazza San Marco. He is now 11 , so I will update his picture on Thursday!

sallyjane3 Aug 22nd, 2005 04:05 AM

Always my own pics, almost always my travel pics. Last week it was one of my daughters and me in Venice. Right now it's a shot of Edinburgh, taken from the Castle. Ahhhhhhh.

I have the same software as PatrickLondon, and switch my backgrounds every 15 minutes or so. I find travel shots both restful, and a constant reminder of where I have been.

Usually I keep a folder of pictures from my last holiday, but If it has been too long between breaks, then I jave a selection of my favourite shots from various trips. Currently showing this photo:

Mine is a beautiful picture of the old town of Le Mans, France, which I found on the net once. It reminds me of France and how much I miss it and of the wonderful day I had in Le Mans last April.
