Is there a ferry from Dublin to Glasglow??

I'm planning a trip to Ireland will be there for 4 weeks. My husband and I would like to see scottland while we are there. What is the best way to do this? Any ideas? Is there a ferry that would take us from Dublin to Glasglow? How long would it take and the cost if possible. Please help Michigan.

No such route. Closest is Troon to Belfast. You use to be able to do Glasgow/Belfast but not any more

Maybe if they cut a route through the middle of Scotland it would be possible.

Until the 1960s, there was an overnight ship between Glasgow and Dublin, as well as services from Glasgow to Belfast and Londonderry. Now, car ferries run on the shorter routes from Belfast or Larne to Stranraer, Cairnryan or Troon. All ports except Cairnryan have train connections. Try www.poirishsea.com, www.stenaline.co.uk and www.steam-packet.com.

Best to fly. Ryanair among others fly several times a day between the two cities (Ryanair to Prestwick), and by booking well in advance you can get a remarkably cheap fare, from as little as £15 or 20 euro each way.

Mind you, Ryanair have astrict luggage rule. You might not get the hire car on:)
