Is anyone else having problems posting replies today?

Just checking-maybe I'm the only one affected?

bonjourshelley Dec 30th, 2003 10:22 AM

see if this works!

I and many others had that problem on and off for about 6-weeks. I now access fodors.com thru Internet Explorer and no more problems posting replies. Try it!

Click START, select ALL PROGRAMS and click on INTERNET EXPLORER (unless IE is already on your desktop), then once on the IE homepage, just enter the fodors.com URL. That should do it.

ira Dec 30th, 2003 01:27 PM

Yes,

I found that none of my posts, including this one, got through.

Patrick Dec 30th, 2003 01:37 PM

I know what you mean, ira, this post didn't post either!

ira Dec 30th, 2003 01:43 PM

Real bummer, Patrick.

I wonder if it is just us.

ChatNoir Dec 30th, 2003 01:49 PM

You may have exceeded your fodor's posting allowance for 2003. The holiday letter and flight coupon I got from fodor's last week had some blurb about weighted averages and roaming indicators.

Internet Explorer was the only way I was able to do it, also. Thanks for the tip, Sandi. I was about to give up until I read your post. Mary

francophile03 Dec 30th, 2003 09:03 PM

I'll try posting a reply. Thanks to Ira and Patrick for actually replying to one of my posts with their usual sarcasm.

francophile03 Dec 30th, 2003 09:05 PM

Sandi, thank you for your help. I was accessing Fodors through AOL until today when I encountered the reply posting problem and I've gotten through with Internet Explorer.

KS452 Dec 30th, 2003 09:13 PM

Guess you haven't noticed the Fodors' "Message to AOL Users" there to the left on this screen (below the 'change forum' box and the first thread header. Been there for weeks.

francophile03 Dec 30th, 2003 09:25 PM

Okay, so I didn't notice it. I hadn't had the problem until now-yes, I am an AOL customer. But like I said I did not notice it. How great you did though. And thanks for taking time to point it out to me that I did not notice it.

KS452 Dec 30th, 2003 09:27 PM

Not a problem.

francophile03 Dec 30th, 2003 09:28 PM

I'm quite sure it wasn't a problem for you.

RufusTFirefly Dec 31st, 2003 03:11 AM

I still don't understand why anyone would use AOL--expensive and cludgy; and out of step with the rest of the internet world. It doesn't offer anything of real value that you can't get by using msn.com or yahoo.com or a hundred other free sites or a less expensive ISP as your home page.

francophile03 Dec 31st, 2003 09:11 AM

Thanks for your opinion but I choose to use AOL for now.

Patrick Dec 31st, 2003 09:20 AM

OK, now francophile, lighten up. You may call ira's and my posts "sarcastic" if you wish, but what is the difference in posting a reply saying it doesn't work and posting one that simply says "TEST"? I don't think either of us meant any offense, and of course we had no way of knowing it would even post until it did. Sad when any simple attempt at humor here is greeted with being called "usual sarcasm".

francophile03 Dec 31st, 2003 09:32 AM

I want to take it as some light humor from you two, but I did not find it humorous, more like a putdown. How could you not know your replies didn't post when you're both having this conversation at my expense? I genuinely had problems with posting replies yesterday. If you wanted to help then you could have given me some advice like Sandi.

ira and Patrick are both known to be very, very bad men who have an utter disregard for the sensitive feelings and human rights of peace-loving people everywhere.

I bet both these gross verbal bullies have long, long police records for eagerly committing the most horrific crimes against humanity. Why, those rap sheets have got to be as long as my arm!

It is clear for all to see that they have conspired to savage countless innocent posters who were brutalized by relentless assaults of the worse order.

When will these petty, foul, filthy, corrupt, sassy, curt, brisk, not cute tyrants be dethroned? I say enough is enough!

Lord, it felt so good to get that off my chest!

Chill out and let's not take offense so quickly in 2004.

francophile03 Dec 31st, 2003 10:26 AM

Yeah, whatever...
