Images of Italy
The threads with photos of France and Germany are great. But if any country deserves it, Italy does. So here are a few of mine

Thank you isabel!
So, with a tear in my eye, let me dedicate a post to the so hard beaten city of Bergamo. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...5969b66e5a.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...631317fdc6.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...c93228d9db.jpg |

Bergamo was one of the first places we stayed on our first trip to Italy in 1991. I haven't digitized many photos from that trip, but here is one:

Couldn't figure out how to post any text in there, but most of you will recognize where those were taken.

FORZA!! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...e0b0d2efb6.jpg A city known for its canals and reflections. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...d50fd12756.jpg Venezia---who could not fall in love with it? https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...1ae72600f2.jpg Have you heard? The canals are just now crystal clear for the first time in ages--one can see to the bottom. Oh such fabulous photos! Sigh.

Zebec, that last photo of the woman on bicycle, with the halo around her head, looks mightly angelic.
|
Beautiful images zebec, you do have an eye for details and situations.
|
Thx all for kind words. The irony here is that I still cannot get my best Italy/Venice highlites to upload from LightRoom (sound of hammer smashing equipment). Dunno what prob is. Sigh...
Isabel, we were Amalfi Coast-bound prior to the virus, so your opening shots are special for those of us who had to cancel. Danon, that Monti bakery...Serpenti, no? I am done. But not really. |
Is that a close up of Andrea Bocelli, or is that you, zebec?

HollyCasa, neither actually. You could count the shots taken of us on one hand. By complete fluke, we arrived for our lengthy stay in Bevagna just as a perfect storm of celebrations was commencing. Ironically, none of those were its earlier, more high-profile Medieval fest (jayzus you should see the supposedly 'spontaneous' costumed portraits that NG superstar Steve McCurry took there--awesome). Instead it was if memory serves, a Labour Day, combined with a first-ever expanded Food Fest and also the annual Communion for tweeners. To top it all off, there was a '50s R+Roll version performance of Cinderella in the town's authentic historical theatre.
IMHO, Bevagna remains one of Europe's best-kept secrets. done end |
