Rosanna's situation is easier because she's an EU citizen, with a right to live and work in Italy. Still, even though she's a trained nurse, she started off cleaning houses for €6 an hour. An American who came on a tourist visa and did that would be an illegal immigrant, with no health services, and no legal residence.

@bvlenci you are right, but finding a legal job in Italy is almost impossible! Most people who work cleaning houses work illegal....
In the north is was a little better, but now too people are leaving because there's no work, after the crisis living in Italy became very tough, both foreingers and italian....
So coming to Italy and hoping you get a legal job for getting a visa is a nice dream.....
