Hey suze--I just recommended to someone on another thread that she take dried cranberries from Trader Joe's to her Italian relatives as something typical of New England!! Maybe not such a great suggestion!!(Just joking--I *love* Trader Joe's!!)

I always use my office address as my address on the luggage. I don't really know what good your passport or DL info would do if the luggage was lost so I don't bother with that. I do sometimes put the first hotel info, but only if I am feeling ambitous and have extra time.

Another trick is to "code" your account numbers. I have a trick where I change several numbers on my printed copy. (Just hope I remember the code if I ever have to call, but even if I don't the imporatant thing to have is the PHONE number. You don't need the account number to report a lost/stolen card, they can look it up.)

I heard that the almond scare was from almonds purchased at Costco. Since I was out of the country when it all happend, I could be wrong.

TJ's said that the supplier of the nuts sent them many places, TJ's was one of them, maybe Costco was too.
My son told me about the recall when we returned from the trip, then all of our stomach problems made sense, so I took one of my crumpled little bags with a few nuts remaining into the store to have them check the number and it was the recalled ones, so they gave me a full refund. The recall happened after I had left, too. So the moral of the story is to go ahead and eat junk food because the healthy good can make you even sicker!! Too ironic, but fairly amusing in hindsight as we kept eating the nuts because we thought other things were making us sick!! |
