mebe, what a fantastic summary of your experience of almost a year ago now! I loved reading it, and the photos are fantastic. I have been to both Florence and Rome, but never alone. Lately I have been "thinking" about a solo trip, but I must admit that the mere thought of going it alone over there petrifies me. Therefore, I found your report highly reassuring, as well as motivational. The ridiculous thing is that I travel constantly by myself throughout the US for business, but have trepidation about doing so in another country for pleasure. Loved reading about your experiences. Thanks again.

PollyT -- Happy Birthday!

Nepenthe -- thank you! Yes, solo is scary. But worth every moment. And If my DH "let me" :) I would do it again without a second thought.

As I mentioned before, by brother gifted me my own website/blog; a "home" for the trip reports I've posted on Fodor's.

I've started by rewriting my first trip to Italy with DH and 16 month old daughter.

Like Fodor's, I'm posting in sections. Here it is:

It's a work in progress. And my way of reliving my previous adventures until I have the chance to make new ones.

And since my brother has spent time setting it up, he wants someone other than my Mom to check it out :)

Myra-
Your blog looks great!
I love to see people travel with young kids. Get them started early I say.
Too many people think having children means no travel until they are older. I think travel with kids opens doors and helps raise children with a sense of a larger world.
Great job! Keep it up...
