If you're too sexy for comfortable clothes, are you not sexy in uncomfortable clothes?<BR><BR>Sorry, but I cannot picture a woman with the name Leanore as SEXY. Now, if your name was Raquel, Veronique, etc., then you would be SEXY.

what Aug 6th, 2002 06:32 PM

Rod, you birdbrain, there's nothing sexier than meeeting a chick with an ugly name like Hortense and she turns out to be this gorgeous chick.

lili Aug 6th, 2002 11:03 PM

Always a black dress and take a blue-jean coat then look sexy and sporty

Dr. Doit Aug 7th, 2002 04:34 AM

OH YOU HOT MAMA! Let's hook up and you can wear your leapord print thong and swing from the trapeze in our hotel in Paris...ooooh la la. You hot baby you so damn hot, oh god just thinking of you maked me break into a sweat. Ah sweet Leanore, well past your teens but still one HOT mama. Oh baby baby baby shake that booty thing, you one sexy old lady...

what a question Aug 7th, 2002 04:49 AM

Wear a pushup bra, short tops that show some lower back skin and tote your thong/string underwear - make sure the strap appears up on the sides and just above your backside. That way, you'll fit right in in Europe.

Worried Aug 7th, 2002 05:18 AM

Can PUP come too? What should it wear? Are sneakers out? What about an "I'm With Stupid" t-shirt?

mmmmm Aug 7th, 2002 05:33 AM

A clear see through raincoat is a must accessory. Of course, wear nothing underneath......hot, hot, hot

Leanore Aug 7th, 2002 09:28 AM

Well, well, I am back here this morning to check on my question and received some interesting posts and laughs, Dr. Doit!<BR>You really have some good tips mixed in there too all you Fodorites! Thanks.

For women, cut and paste NY Girl and dump the rest. For the guys, keep looking, but if you get stuck, try to adapt NY Girl's ideas. Apparently killer neck gear makes the outfit.

Dress like the locals. Sexy is a moving target - what works in London won't fly in Seville. Travel light, go window shopping and people watching, then whip out the old credit card. <BR><BR>Be careful where you go window shopping, though. There are parts of Amsterdam where the window displays might even be too sexy for your tastes.<BR><BR><BR>

RnR Aug 7th, 2002 10:04 AM

Cannot agree - sexy is not moving, well, it is, but it isn't. If you know sexy, it's the same in any language, any country. If it feels it, it is.

VivaEuroFemmes! Aug 7th, 2002 10:05 AM

<BR>If you think jeans are not sexy, you have not seen European women wearing them.

europeangirl Aug 7th, 2002 10:10 AM

Jeans can be very sexy indeed. Just don't wear them with sneakers, but with nice Italian leather loafers, possibly with no socks, and a nice leather belt, particularly Gucci or Hermes labelled. A button-down shirt and here you go. Oh, a quality leather bag of course and why not a silk scarf. You won't look overly sexy like that, but very classy....

bra straps Aug 7th, 2002 10:11 AM

One small look-like-the-locals trend, easy to execute: wear great bras in black or colors and let some part of them show from under your clothes (straps, low neckline, you get the idea)!!<BR>

lolita new Aug 7th, 2002 10:17 AM

Fiddlesticks, jeans sexy! The only person wearing jeans on media is that shabby chic woman on TV! Hard to know if her knees or rear will wear through first. Rachel somebody, from UK hinterlands. She needs a new doo! Now I like that Nigella - she stays clear of work clotes - and really puts a bite into life.

Faith Aug 7th, 2002 10:23 AM

Nigella is full figured and very sexy on her tv show. <BR>I just can't get with the fashion statement of showing bra straps, too long in my life it was a fashion horror if they showed or peeked out under a sleeve. <BR>I am a little past throng age too, but do what to have a little sex appeal when I travel or go out on the town at home.

Poe Boy Aug 7th, 2002 10:52 AM

...for the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore...<BR><BR>a metalic, cone bra, and nothing more.<BR><BR>Quothe the raven (yadda-yadda, blah-blah-blah-)<BR><BR>Edgar.

VivaEuroFemmes! Aug 7th, 2002 11:08 AM

europeangirl, jeans with nice Italian leather loafers, a nice leather belt, and a button-down shirt? (strategically unbuttoned, naturally) <BR><BR>Je t'aime!

Lolita N. Aug 7th, 2002 11:17 AM

In Nigella's case, perhaps the clothes don't make the woman! Rubinesque, and Devine! She's even sexy in her robe when she slips downstairs after the party and snacks in the frig. And my goodness, does anybody else sense a rush watching her eat a grilled cheese! Wooooeeee! Like ambrosia for the gods! But Jeans and Nigella, no. Forget the formula - go with what works for you.

bite me Aug 7th, 2002 11:44 AM

ooooooo, interesting to see an entourage of Nigella Lawson fans. She certainly adds a new flavor to the usually mundane cooking show.<BR><BR>Leanore: Wear any freaking thing you want. Walk down the street in a teddy & tap shoes if you suits you.<BR>
