How many actually GO?

Do any of you wonder how many folks, while sitting at their job and being paid to do other things, actually are watching "fodors" and better yet, How many of these people with rabid opinions on travel actually go ANYWHERE? I do. I think the real travellers are pretty scarce.

I think the majority do travel and/or are planning to and want to get opinions so they will be somewhat knowledgeable? I do travel but even if I didn't would find the opinions interesting. I do sometimes think that who appear to be the most knowledgeable may be selling or dreaming?<BR>aja

&lt;&lt;selling or dreaming?&gt;&gt;<BR><BR>huh?<BR><BR>

Nan Jun 14th, 2002 03:08 PM

I think the majority of writers here travel. I know the one's I have corresponded with are on the go alot and when they are home they are planning their next trip on line here, like I am. I would say 60% are active travelers.

duhasst Jun 14th, 2002 05:31 PM

there are 24 hours in a day. <BR><BR>you can spend 30 minutes here, post a few things, post some answers, and all of a sudden have 30 people answer your question (usually flamers) and then the <BR>dimwits come out of the woodwork and think you sit online all day because your post keeps topping (cause, and effect people)... this is called projecting - including arguing with themselves or other anonymous posters. very funny when you think about it! their imaginary friends. at least they have some friends.<BR><BR>meanwhile, the person flamed actually travels constantly and regularly for work or pleasure and they have something of value to to say about it. but it's lost in the din.<BR><BR>never underestimate the stupidity of certain people - the lowest common denominator always wins.

I suspect that people like Capo and John G don't travel nearly as much as they lead us to believe. Capo because he spends all his time on this board and John G because he has been caught in too may, how should I say this discreetly, irregularities.

deborah Jun 14th, 2002 05:56 PM

duhasst <BR><BR>You said, "never underestimate the stupidity of certain people '<BR><BR>After reading your post I won't.

James Jun 14th, 2002 06:02 PM

and Deborah wins the prize! arguing with anonymous people.<BR><BR>(never learned irony in high school huh Deb)<BR><BR><BR>

John Jun 14th, 2002 06:04 PM

duhasst <BR><BR>You said, "including arguing with themselves or other anonymous posters. very funny when you think about it! their imaginary friends. at least they have some friends."<BR><BR>This I believe is the best example of projection I have seen on these boards.<BR>

deborah Jun 14th, 2002 06:06 PM

The real irony is that duhasst <BR>and James are the same person.

Paul Jun 14th, 2002 06:08 PM

You're right Deb, look at the spelling and word content. Didn't try to hard to disquise it either. Real smart boy there.

freud Jun 14th, 2002 06:12 PM

I think someone hit John and Deb's nerve - will they get sucked in further... check back and see.<BR><BR>and leave John G alone. he da man.

deborah Jun 14th, 2002 06:19 PM

Dear duhasst, James and freud<BR><BR>You need to see about having that Disassociative Identity Disorder taken<BR>care of. If the first two don't know what it is, ask freud, he should know. <BR>

Micheal Jun 14th, 2002 06:20 PM

LOL!<BR><BR>Go Deborah....too funny.

xxxx Jun 14th, 2002 07:03 PM
