Hotels in Paris
 

I am travelling with my family to Paris in May. Can some one suggest a good location where I should stay, from where it is easy to enjoy the night life. And can someone suggest a good hotel also in that area. My budget is between Euro 100-125.

You should be able to find something in the 5th arr. When you say "travelling with my family", how many people are in your party? 2? 3? 4?

It's not fancy, but we really enjoyed the Familia last year. It's about a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame...in the Latin Quarter.

I think it would be easy to enjoy the nightlife in the 4th-6th arrondisements. Is that budget for a single room, or a double or what? The Hotel Bonaparte is a 2* hotel in St Germain that some others on this forum recommend and it would be a good location. I think it is more expensive than that for a double, though. Try the Hotel Clement in the same area, I think it's a little cheaper but I'm not sure. YOu could also try the Hotel St Pierre, a 2* hotel in that district, and I know it is cheap, and within your budget.

A quad room would be tough with your budget. How many days/nights will you be staying in Paris?

Look at etap hotels in Paris. You can book 2 rooms for around that amount and get 2 bathrooms, etc.

How long are you staying? If a week, look at renting an apt. Most, but not all 1 bedroom apt. have a couch that makes into a bed for children. There are apts within your price range of 700 to 875 per week. Look at VRBO.com for a start.

The Hotel Daval in the Bastille area has a quad room for 120 euros.

May I ask what kind of night life you're looking for? From your first post, I thought you were asking for night life like bars and discos etc, but I don't think so anymore since you have 2 young children in tow???

I wondered about that also, and nightlife to me means clubs, etc., or perhaps opera/ballet. However, to some people, I think nightlife just means walking around the streets at night in an area where others are also on the streets. With children, you can't be clubbing, eactly, so I suspect it's the latter in which case you (or they) would probably like the area right around the Seine and the islands (and yes, there are "tourist" pedestrian streets right near there, whatever you want to call them, that's really what they are for).

So somewhere near St Michel metro/RER stop would be good, but none of the places I mentioned will likely have a quad for that rate, although St Pierre is cheap and might if they have one. The problem is these are sort of desirable hotel areas, and that is a dirt cheap price.

Hotel College de France is just steps from the Sorbonne in the 5th and a very short distance from St. Michel/Notre Dame RER Station. There are a ton of restaurants and cafes along Blvd. St. Germaine. You can easily walk to Flore or Deux Maggots.

I just booked a Best Western hotel, Left Bank-St.Germain. It's in a great location (6eme, Metro:Odeon only steps away) and the AAA rate was 126E for a queen size bed.-- (I don't know if they have a quad, but it may be worth a call to find out.) I was excited to find this great rate in this location--- steps away from the Latin Quarter (where there's plenty of activity day and night), Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame and St. Chappelle) the Marche de Buci is around the corner. You can walk to the Musee D'Orsay, as well. Paris is such a walkable city, and this location puts you right in the center of it all!

I have no idea of how the emoticom made it into my response---I certainly do not have any feelings about Odeon metro stop! As for the apartment idea--We've done that, too. With a family, it is a great option---and can be economical, too. Markets and local shops can provide all you need for breakfast, and you can even stop occasionally and pick up beautifully prepared food to have for a dinner "at home" occasionally!

Look at Vacation in paris website and check out Apt #122 on rue St Andre des Arts, It would be perfect for 4. There is a bath and a half, a pull out bed for kids, close to transprtation and walking distance to a few sites. Lots of cafes, boulangeries, internet cafes, etc. And well within your price range.

I don't know if Hotel College de France has quad rooms but I do know that a family of four was staying at the hotel whilst my cousin and I were staying there.
