Hotels in Florence with a pool

that won't break the bank? Do they exist?

If it's not directly in Florence but very near (short taxi or long walk), that's okay too.

Any suggestions, we are a family of 4 and the Four Seasons or 5 stars are way too expensive, for 2 rooms, thanks!

www.orbitz.com allows you to narrow your search to include hotels with pools only. It is at the bottom and says something like, allow me to choose my amenities.

That will get you started with some names at least even if you don't want to book through orbitz.

Just wanted to be sure that having a pool is a higher priority than a central location. The best located hotels, in the historical centers, tend not to have pools (true of most buildings over 300 years old). Hotels with pools tend to be on the outskirts - which is fine if pool is the main priority - just thought this might help.

This hotel is IN Florence and has an outdoor pool.

That it does Jean, and two rooms would cost us almost $1400 for one night!

Oops, I made a mistake, it would only cost $650 a night. ;)

I'll check Orbitz, thanks vjp.

Look for the Kraft hotel. Many years ago on our first visit to Florence that's where we stayed. It was reasonable (or we'd not have been staying there), had a pool, and was close to the center of the city. Good luck.

Thanks Julie, that may end up being where we stay...

It was perfectly fine for us, but this was a long time ago. Can't speak to what may have happened to it in the meantime, but at least the website still shows it with a pool and reviews on Tripadvisor were positive.

Okay I was able to find the Hotel Kraft for $128 USD per room or the Hotel Grand Minerva for $185 USD/room.

Bear in mind we need 2 rooms. Is the Grand Minerva worth $120 more?

tuscanlifeedit Apr 29th, 2009 11:18 AM

nina: I checked tripadvisor.com for reviews of both hotels. As expected, the Grand Minerva got higher ratings, but the ratings for the Hotel Kraft weren't so bad.

Only you know what sorts of rooms you require and what your standards are.

Have you read both sets of reviews?

I've read them....I'm going to hold off on a decision for awhile.
