Again I point to the Homeland.

http://pensionhomeland.com/

The location is so special and idyllic, because it's on the former naval base: so that part of the city is both central, but also relatively undeveloped. It's like retreating to your own special village at the end of the day.

Bonus: their restaurant is getting rave reviews

You could get their company room, that's one of the old commander rooms. A steal at 160 euros. Rent the son a single, and you'll have space to commune as a family and also for everyone to have their own domain.

While on tour, would love ve to throw in request fo reviews of the conservatorium vs Sofitel Grand, vs Waldorf as well. This is a splurgey trip for us and these three seem to fit the bill although I know they are very different in style. Trying to gauge importance of location on a canal vs general hotel vibe.
Any opinions really appreciated.
