We have only used booking.com in about 10 countries including Spain.

We stayed at Hispanos7Suizas, an aparthotel, 2BR, 2Bath, on a side street near La Sagrada Familia, very nice with a helpful front desk. Found it on maribelsguides.com.

FWIW - Last time I stayed in an H10 property they pulled the DCC nonsense at checkout. When I tried to get it corrected, suddenly, staff could no longer converse in English. |
The DCC is on a roll in Spain, especially Barcelona, so be aware, Tell them ahead of time to charge you in Euros, and if something happens, tell them to call the police.
Another option you have is to deny the charge and let them work it out with your credit card company. Also, Amex is the only company that does not allow the use of DCC. |
DCC is not illegal thus the police will not be interested.
The problem has to be taken up with the CC card company. Christina my post was tongue in cheek. All this discussion about where to stay and it all can be done oh so easy with the using Booking.com. Using the old PDF style of some information is just so 1990s. Booking's phone apps is the way to go. |
Thanks all for the suggestions.

We also stayed at the Hotel Jazz in October and were very pleased. Great location, clean and comfortable with a small rooftop bar
