Be careful what you wish for, lol. Three weeks in a hospital, any hospital, is a nightmare--still exempting that Japanese one massimop was in, but that's the exception that proves the rule.

I don't know anything about the OP's type of fracture, but I know I would rather recuperate at home. I had to have emergency surgery a couple of years ago and went home exactly 24 hours after walking into the ER, and was grateful to do so.

OTOH, it's funny to me that Americans who are outraged that Italian hospitals require one to bring pj's and cutlery, are okay with caring for a semi-invalid at home under the US system, which I agree would never let a person with a broken leg stay in hospital for three weeks.

I don't see the miracle, at all. Everyone in health care knows the last place you want to be for an extended period of time is a hospital. A long-term stay is fraught with danger. Patients who don't <b>need</b> to be in a hospital setting should do everything they can to get out of one as soon as they can. It is much safer and far more productive to recuperate at home when that is possible.

I used to live in Veince and I did hear some horror stories about the hospital. I heard Mestre is much better
