Super - this morning the Eurpe forum is clean. No more Spam from the Korean Casino.

Moderators, you did a good job! Thank you and excuse our impatience. It shows how much we like to share our travel experiences.

It was getting a bit wearing with only one of the 50 posts on my "front page" being a genuine post. Thanks and well done, keep it clean!

Thank mr_go, whose thread in the Lounge woke up the mods.

I don't think mr_go's or any of the other several threads brought this about. Between the URL threads for sexual aids (mostly on the US board) and the 'Korean' spam (mostly here on Europe) there has been a TON of junk on the boards . . . and it has always been deleted. It just seems the past two days have been worse and took a lot longer to clean up.

Yes -- we definitely need to keep out fingers crossed [-o<

By the way, I haven't been able to connect to Fodors for the last 2 days, using Firefox. I thought they shut it down to clear spam. But apparently not. Today I can open it using (medieval) Internet Explorer, but Firefox always says "Bad Request

Any chance the thousands of repetitive Korean threads were related to the thousands of repetitive Trump threads in the Lounge? So many similarities.

I am using Firefox with no problem, and no interruption of service.

On the plus side, I now speak Korean fluently.

Maitaitom, I'm impressed at your fluency with languages - perhaps you an translate some of the other spam for us as though many are written in what is supposed to be english, I have no idea what they are talking about. perhaps they are more relevant to you, perchance?

It is a pleasure to get on the forums and have no spam! I wonder which of the tech fixes they got to work. Mods alone can't compete with spam-bots!

At the moment Fodors is back to normal with me. I'm enjoying a hot chocolat in the cold weather while surfing my favorite traveling forum.

Somebody opened the windows and let the stink out. Now we can breathe again, until the next onslaught no doubt. For now - many thanks.

Must admit the spam frustrated me so much that I hesitated to go on the forums. Trying to wade through to the legitimate replies.
But I am so glad that it is gone now.

Well, it's 11PM in California and the Korean spam is back. Where's the broom and the bleach?

I keep having these dreams where I walk into this small, cluttered, room in Korea where a youngish chap is sitting in front of a computer.

I have a baseball bat.

We know we can use The forum 24 hours on a Sunday.
We also know these bots are human piloted.

Those of us on Europe time just woke up to another spate of this nonsense. I fail to see why Fodors can't controll this sh*it.

No big deal. I have stuff to do today that's more important, but why a company can't control this is beyond me.

I'm afraid it's back this morning.

Seeing that the spam times match working hours East Asian Time, there must be a human being behind it.

I like the imagination of the baseball bat. I'd target not the young chap, who is probably doing a stupid and badly paid job, though, but smash his computer to pieces.
