Hiring a driver
 

Hi. I am planing a trip to the Donegal area this spring and am trying to find out if it would be possible to hire a van for 5 adults with a driver. This is my second trip to Ireland, but driving last time left me stressed and unable to enjoy the scenery. I really don't want to attempt it again, plus this time we will have rent a larger vehicle. Last time it was just a regular sized car and I pulled over to cry more than once! If anyone has any info about doing this I would really appreciate the info. Thanks.

There are a number of companies that do this. I haven't had any experience with any of them, but you can certainly get a good idea from it. You may also want to try 12travel.ie (or .com for the US based site). They get high marks as a travel agency. You certainly will have to pay more for that, but it might be worth it with your concerns.

UPDATE: i have just spoken with a firm of drivers in donegal and they do drive visitors around donegal but at the moment they use mercedes cars which can only car four people and a driver. however, they are in the process of expanding this service to include a larger vehicle. the owner is to come back to me within the next couple of days and at that time i will give you a further update.
