It's very warming to see these expressions of concern from friends made in virtual communities. Thank you all.
My sister said her trip home was much better than she expected as buses were already running again in her part of town towards her home in SW London. Some of my friends ended up walking home and it took a few hours but... none were closely involved in the awful incidents. |
I'm fine thank you all. In fact I feel a bit of a fraud even posting about yesterdays events as I am one of very few Londoners unaffected or inconvenienced by the bombs.
I get an overground to Waterloo and then have a ten minute walk - so nothing really happened to me. I got home safely - but a bit wobbly as I decided to walk home and break the journey at a few watering holes. It seemed a good idea at the time. |
Well, we are really impressed with how concerned the British in the service industry have been regarding OUR safety. British Airways actually called us in our hotel room to make sure we were safe and to inquire if there was anything they could do to help us. Hotel management has sent us 3 notes to update us on the "incident" and how it is affecting downtown services. Everyone has been very nice and encouraging.
We took the tube from our hotel to Hampton Court today and, while there was a bit more security forces around, people seemed to move with ease. We are continuing to tour and shop and carry on with our plans as we have been encouraged to do. Cindy |
David, thanks for checking in - glad to see you're okay! And doesn't it always seem like a good idea at the time?? ;)
Cindy, what a wonderful experience you've relayed to us. Your hotel sounds like a gem & BA certainly went above & beyond. cheers, Beatchick |
